    Some help please with Slingbox

    Hi All I have a DM500c and a slingbox Classic I have updated to the latest sling player and reset my settings i have selected Satellite and FTA boxes..Dream multimedia and then Dreambox. Continue to end of setup start Sling player have a picture and sound and the dream media remote but the four coloured buttons do not work !! can anyone help please as i dont think i am as thick as i look (unless you tell me otherwise)

      Exactly the same setup here & those coloured buttons have never worked on my setup either (never needed them) so it might be like that by default.

      Unless someone knows any different.

          Many thanks for letting me know i am not alone..
          At the moment i am in Thailand and my replay 1 box is now a FTA brick so i have got the 500 to install on my return. After many hours with Sling not so techinal support they have said it is because i am using anold firmware version updating to the latest will cure the problem but i do not believe them (i need to record here and timeshift) Their final solution was suscribe to Sky buy a Sky + box and record to that as thay have all the buttons working on that !!!!

              There is software that allows you to record the slingbox stream, but i've never used it so cant say if its any good or not.

                  i installed slingbox on my own pc and have the same problem

                  i then installed it on another pc and the colour buttons work

                  i dont know why or how to replicate it but if i figure it ill let you know

                      I have been using at large recorder for a few years now that is the reason i will not update my firmware as the stream is now encrypted rendering it about as much use as rocking horse manure, Slings answer to that is to stay up and watch uk tv at 4 am !!! they say the sling box is working fine and the problem is what i want to do with it they say that you can watch it anywhere in the world....as long as you stay up all night.

                      I have installed it on another pc here but still not working so that will have to wait till i get back to the UK.

                      And it is now a week and am still waiting for technical to send an email responce as how to fix the problem !!! ( I think i only got the guy that could write and am waiting for the guy that can write and read to start his shift) for my responce
                      I will let you know how things progress or dont
