    DM500 Single channel scan

Hi all, I got my first dreambox yesterday and followed the instructions given on this site and had my box up and running in about 30 mins so thank you very much for all the info given.

One problem I have got is there are a few channels that have shown up in the scan but when I go on them I get a message saying "service could not be found" how do I get these channels? Will I have to do a manual scan on these channels and if so how do you do that for individual channels.

I have the DK 1.1 image running.

    Thanks again.

i guess if doing a manual scan what channels you are missing
and what frequency they are and ,what area you live in
or a manual scan can be done for the lot sometimes works better

Im guessing your talking about channels like "DL Samsung" or "DVR Explorer" and all that crap.... I dont know what the hell theyre for or why they get pulled in probably because its scanning from an alternate box as opposed to a proper VM box... just delete them but keep them ETV ones as theyre interactive BBC channels

My main problem channels are mainly music channels for some reason, all MTV channels, VH1 and a few others. I really don't know anything about the channel frequency's it just looks like a few numbers to me so am not to sure what to change them to. Would a brute force UK scan be the best thing to then instead of using an area scan?

Well I had probs with my area scan which lead to me missing half the movie channels... but I knew that I was in a 6887 area and scanning that fixed it

Try Brute force or 6887 or 6295

Once the scans finished use the all services list and see if all your chnls work.. if not then scan one of the others.. once they all work create some bouquets

Thanks for the replies, I did a brute force UK scan and got all the channels working fine now and it even found a few more that were not there before.
