    DM600 Cant record...

    Hi all nice people...

Have a small but very irritating problem
I have a dm600pvr-c with a harddisk 160GB and recording workes well ... EXCEPT when I try to watch another channel while recording That doesnt work , it always wants to interrupt recording if I try to switch to another channel

Does anyone have a tip for that ? I use gemini 4.6 and cccam and camd3 (I think) , I am very new to all this so please help a girl in need

One other small thing , when I unplug the power and then plug it back on it always starts with Common Interface instead of Cam3 or Cccam... Why does it that ???

Thank you all for your help in advance

It isn't possible to record one program and watch another with a 600pvr as it only has one tuner, you would need a Dreambox 7025+ for that.

To stop Gemini 4.6 restarting in common interface, when the box is on select and start the softcam you want, Cccam, then when watching a channel select the power option from the menu and select 'restart enigma' , this should lock in all the present settings and the box should restart with Cccam selected.

    I've got two DM600PVR doorstops...

yup unfortunately the chances of wanting to watch one channel and record another that just happen to be on the same transponder are next to none.

hope you weren't sold this box under the false pretense that it was......

          Tank you for your replies...

It is strange .... I told you I was new to this so I bought this receiver and I was told it could record at the same time I watched another channel ... and as proof I was shown the page 52 nad 53 and... in the owners manual
I didnt know anything how to put in the image or ke**s or anything so I had nice people like you in the forums to help me ... so I tried the newest image 4.6 (or something) and then all this cams ....(4-5) of them and then the ke**s and then... I lost track , but anyway it could record and I was able to watch another channel !!!
How I did it ... hmmm I dont remember (( silly girl...

At the end I stopped with one cam and one ke* and now I cant record and watch another channel

          It really drives me mad
Did I forget to say it is a cable version of the 600PVR ?

These transponders you are talking about , what are they

I live in switzerland and if you know what cam is the best and what are the difference between all this keybundles , like minicats and similar ??? Which one is the best ???
I have cablecom as a provider.

I am sorry if these questions are toooo many and if they are too hard but please help a girl for whome all this tech stuff is too hard to comprehend at once

Thanks again ... may all channels be with you

it could be that images work different ways, i had pli-olite600 image on and it did let yoy record a channel on the same freq as the one i was recording. but now i have the gemini image on and when i try to watch 1 channel and record another 1 it wont let me. so if you realy want to do this try the pli-olite600 image.

"what is a transponder? each is a separate transceiver or repeater. With digital video data compression and multiplexing, several video and audio channels may travel through a single transponder on a single wideband carrier. Original analog video only has one channel per transponder, with subcarriers for audio and automatic transmission identification service ATIS. Non-multiplexed radio stations can also travel in single channel per carrier (SCPC) mode, with multiple carriers (analog or digital) per transponder. This allows each station to transmit directly to the satellite, rather than paying for a whole transponder, or using landlines to send it to an earth station for multiplexing with other stations."

basically the cable company transmits its channels on a series of different transponders some being on the same transponder tho the tuner in your box can only be connected to one transponder at a time (unless you have multiple tuners) meaning that if you ever have watched one channel and recorded another at the same time they just happened to randomly on the same transponder to the best of my knowledge.
