is there a noobs guide looks very complicated i know how to do the nagro fix with filezilla but can only flash with dreamup on another pc miles away

Dreambox 500 Plus S

Hi,

I am really sorry in posting my question here but I am desperate. I just bought a Dreambox 500s and Flashed the memory using Flash Wizard 6.3 via LAN connection. The flash image was gemini 3.6.0. When I turn on my Dreambox, I get the red and green lights flashing continuously and nothing shows up on TV. Please, what should I do? Would it work to use a Null Cable and DreamUP? Once again, sorry for posting my question here....

im gettin following details when using dream up
local ip 77.97.98.129

select one 77.97.98.129

its finding dreambox but wont connect do i need to change anything

untick network .all you need is a nullmodem cable ,an image ,what to do is make sure your box aint connected to power supply open dreamup,have comms port wher null modem is connected then hit flash when it says " now connect your power supply " or something like that ,put in plug have you checked this tut out?http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...ox-dreamup-33/

thanks ted the box goes to initializing uploader the doesnt do any thing but pc finds the box i do flash with dreamup normally but not off this pc i am using serial cable here though but it is on the right com works fine on eurovox and starveiw

the dreambox uses its own boot loader called dreamup i wouldn't recommend using a 3rd party tool.....download dreamup and flash it using a null modem cable if that wont work now use the telnet method posted

I don't know the pass for my dreambox is there any way cracking it or reinstaling it without losing the settings or any way to backup or download the bouquets at least

The default username is root. Password is dreambox.

how to find out dreambox password


FTP to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma and find a file called 'config'.

Right click it and select 'view'.

Look for a line like...

parentallock=00000000
(change last 4 digits to 22b8 and ur pass is now 8888)
or
Open up your windows calculator and go to scientific mode.
Click on the HEX button.
Enter in the last 4 characters in the parental lock line in the config file.
Click the DEC button.


This is your 4 digit pin code. You can then use it to disable the parental lock or
Setup lock on your image.


If you can't ftp, your only option left is if you have the tuxbox commander
plugin installed in your image, in the plugins menu (Blue or yellow button).
You can navigate to the config file using this plugin and edit the file here.
