Connecting to 500c via laptop problem.

    Hi All

I have been in the process of adding an image and bouquets to my new 500c diectly from laptop to box with a crossover ethernet cable

I got as far as FTPing the image to the temp folder in the box with Filezilla and then flashed it using Telnet. The box rebooted and the new Neutrino image looks ok. Problem is I can no longer connect through FTP.

It would appear the Network settings on the box have changed.

I have the laptop set up as

    IP address 192.168.1.101
    Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

The fields I have to fill in the box are

    IP address
    Subnet Mask
    Broadcast
    Default Gateway
    DNS Server

Any help on getting the two to communicate would be greatly appreciated

    Cheers

    Here's a good guide...

How to Connect your Dreambox to your PC

Use the following settings on your dreambox.

    IP address - 192.168.1.102
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
    Broadcast - 192.168.1.254
    Default Gateway
    DNS Server

      Thanks Devilfish.

I was just coming back to say problem solved.

Sorted by removing 21 from the port box in Filezilla. Needed it when I ftp'd the image over. Will remember for next time.

      Thanks for the quick reply.

The port on the network page should always be 80.

Port 21 is the ftp port on your PC and should be used when using your ftp client.
