Changing channels/bouquets while recording to HDD

Guys, I set up my DM600C to record some films last night on the timer. While the box was recording i wanted to move around my bouquets and watch another channel that was not in my movie bouquet. It would not allow me to chnage bouquets at all and only let me watch other channels within some temporary bouquet with a limited channel list that included the channel i was recording.

I am using the latest PLi image from here. Last week I was able to record a film from my movie bouquet and watch any other channel via Web X although I was not using the timer function that time.

Is there some feature here that I am not aware of?

Also how many channels can I record simultanously?

    Any ideas....

    Thanks

Because the DM600 only has one tuner, you can't watch another channel while you're recording another.

Well, that's not stricktly true. You can watch another channel as long as it's on the same transponder as the channels you're recording. Because the box is tuned into that one particular transponder to record the channel, if it moved away from that the recording would stop. So as a precaution, the box will only show you channels that are on the same transponder as the one you're recording.

    I hope that makes sense

If you had a DM7025 which has 2 tuners, one could be used to record and the other to browse the other channels

Aha, Cheers Glen, that makes perfect sense of what i was experiencing... Arse.. Oh well, dunno if its worth buying 7025 at the moment with the 800 coming out (although the 800 in also only a single tuner box). Will hang on and see who rushes to upgrade first.... Play it from there...

      Thanks again
