hi everyone had channels up to hour ago then they all went have snr and agc readings but no ber can anyone tell me why and more importantly what ber is exactly thanks

BER is Bit Error Rate. If you have a good signal and the SNR is up above 95% then you won't get BER, this is good.

If you are getting a good signal but channel is blank, its probably a key issue. Go to sky sports one and reboot the box.

still nothing did as you advised 22 transponders with no new services is what it is saying could it be my downconverter?

Are you using Chxxus ariel or the Yagi with the built in downconverter?

if chanells disappered all of a sudden and you were not near cables, more than likely the PSU for downconverter died or else the tuner got some sort of spike!
Try manual scan starting at 218mHZ, going up at 8mHz intervals and see do you get anything!!

what happened was id lost sky 1 sports so i turned the box off plugged it back in and all channels were gone restarted evo cam and tried putting it on sky sports but no channels coming up i was pressing buttons on file mode maybe i ~~~~ed something up there ?

My advise, reflash from scratch and the add roms and au files via ftp, its the only way of knowing you have good image - sounds as if you ~~~~ed up something in the image itself!

to check if its the antenna take the cable from the dreambox & plug it into the tv then let the tv search for channels you should pickup sky news clear maybe others on the old analog then you will know if its the box or antenna

I would say its the antenna if you got nothing.

Check all the cables.
Make sure you are powering the antenna.

cant tell ya i just changed image and now ive lost all my keys etc trying to ftp box but can connect to it im really tormented now need image for here as i cant ftp the box think i need to go away from it it tomorrow in losing my patience with it thanks for the help
