Hi There, This is going to be a slightly long post so pls bare with me,
Heres my story, i bought the DM500C 6 mths back and it was showing all SH channels and working superbly fine, untill last week where my itchy finger went to meddle with the setup because i thought i could do some scan and miraculously find the SH Euro Cup channels. However somehow i manage to messup the whole set.
By messup i mean, i couldnt do anything to the set, whatever i press on the remote it wasnt responding, i couldnt even off it via the remote, it was basically stuck at the JADE GREEN MAIN SCREEN.
Hence i went to read up the fourm and found that i need to flash it using Dreamup. As i assume the flashing could only be done using a null modem wire, i had to do this in my ofc as only my ofc had such a modem port. I manage to Flash it and i randomly insert some image thingy i download from the forum.
I came home today to test it out and this time round i could off it and the other buttons on the remote was working. However i was still pretty much stuck at the Jade Green page as my channel listing now is empty without any single channels.
I read further and seem to think i need to put in some files called bouquet and picon into the set via dreamboxedit, and by using this program i needed to knw e ip address for the set hence i hook it up via lan wire to the set and tried to go into setup to check. TO my dismay, it actually asked me for PIN Validation. THis is where i finally gave up and decide to draft this long post to sought help.
I have a few questions that i need you fellow experts on.
1. I do not have any PIN VALIDATION code. Is there a default one or anyway i can hack through this validation code. The set was bought from a friend's friend hence i cant sought help.
2. What is the difference between a Image, Bouquet and picon?
3. I just want all my SH channels back tgt with the Euro Cup channels can someone pls guide me thru the process i beg you.
4. i read that there are Astro channels and alot other channels out there, so i had a thought if a set can combine both SH channels and Astro channels into one set so in future i can watch channels from ASTRO and SH?
5. I am thinking of getting a new DM500C for my room as well hence would anyone have lobang for a good dealer and will this dealer be possible to fix my current set problem if i cant fix it?
6.You see as explained earlier a null modem wired is required to flash the image, though i flash it already, once flash do i still need to use the null modem wire, you see as explained earlier, i dont have a com that has a modem port that supports null modem wire, i only have it in my office, hence if i need to flash it or use the null modem wire i can only do it in office, and in office i dont have access to a tv which means i dont knw if its really working only at night when i back from work, hence will it be possible after flashing that i not use the null modem wire anymore?
