    Dreamup unable to detect DM500C

I am using Dreamup v1.3.2.1 & other version to connect up to DM but it unable to detect the DM. I am confirm that the null cable and RS232 cable is working as I had use it to upgrade other DM before. There is a green led light up infront.

Any advice on how I am able to make DreamUp detect the DM? I did some research and it say the only way to recovery it was to jtag, so is it true?

If u r using the usb to rs232 converter, it maybe the likely cause of not able to detect the dreambox via dreamup. I have got a similar situation whereby the same usb adapter & null cable used for flashing are not able to detect some of the boxes. My suggestion is to check if the inside rs232 wires is being cut by supplier to prevent u from flashing and use computer with comport to do flashing before attempting a jtag.

I have same issue before, out of the 5 box i flash, 2 of them cannot work with my usb and null cable. So i use my desktop computer which has a coms port to do flashing. It works.........

Direct serial connect is always the best and most reliable

Nope, the DM just hang there. No screen or DHCP IP address assign to it even though I assign static IP address to it previously... I am unable to ping the static IP address

I had flash this box before but until recently the box hang so I on off the power supply and nothing come out. So I wanted to reload the firmware using DreamUp... I tested again just now and it able to detect the DM but it just won't load...

It a pity I don't have a desktop with coms port, all the while I had been using laptop via RS232... Haiz
