DM500 Sound gone, where? Me don't know!

500c working fine for several months. Turned on telly this morning and no sound on any channels. Tried different scart cable, different input signal cable, reflashing software but still, no sound on any channel whatsoever.

    Ideas please?

    Thank you in advance.

        No sound that route either.

Is there a sound card thingy that may need to be replaced?

As far as i know its all chips on the mainboard apart from the tuner... So unless its the tuner it will be a shagged mainboard... Unless you are confident at changing chips and have all the gear it may be cheaper to buy a new one.

Somebody may have a trick up their sleeve from having been in this situ before, so give it a day or so to see what suggestions the other guys come up with...

This pic illustrates the internals but as you can see will also distinguish between the real and clone machines...

          Code:

Check in Setup > system settings > audio & video in case you have got ac3 ticked because that could cause loss of sound. I would try reflashin the dm500 if have not done so already.

Had the same problem with my DM600, it's the tuner, I removed the tuner re soldered all the joints, but because the tuner hangs down at an angle it was losing sound, I just cut some straws to length and put them under to keep the tuner level like mini support pillars.
