i dont tink people ar gettin the jist of this thread, by the end of next month there will be notin on these boxs in ireland apart from maybe the basic package which the majority of people ar subscribed to, because all these people will not hav recieved there new viewing card, once they have these boxs are dead in the republic of ireland.
there might be some hope in the future for people wit open source boxs if or when nagra 3 is broke and either way my feelin is we in ireland wont see or hear anytin about it til the uk switchs over, which is probably 12mths away at least.....

Are they gone from the MMDS supply as well or just the cable set up? Have they got the technology to transmit N3 over MMDS?

this is only in certain parts of ntl isnt it?as in not all ntl customers have got their new cards so it will still take some time to send out the cards to the rest of ntl cable and mmds and then move onto chorus id say it will take more than 1 month to do this

Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service its a terrestrial service on a 2.4-2.6Ghz freq the antenna has a built in downconveter that changes the IF freq down to about 226-450 ish range

I should have said April I think once they see its working the cards will be sent out quicker. Probably do it area by area
unless the recession hits them. pure speculation my 2cents worth
