FYHD 800 box did not want to reboot

Hi guys,
I am having problem with FY HD800-C. It hang in the standby mode. Having no choice, I power down the device.

Now, it behave like a brick with
1. the green power light on.
2. but No video output.
3. No 'Boot' message that was seen in previous power up.

Any help?

no choice... either your supplier help you reflash or you DIY- reflash yourself.

How to re-flash this box? Don't seem to have a way to coms with the box if it does not boot.

i read that before master ASTROBOX did say before
using S10 program it might work .

Thank you for responding... I did read the article.

The document assume that we are still able to communicate with the box and access the interactive menu. However, in this case we are unable to boot up the device. The two obvious comms ports are usb and ip network both requires the system to be in running condition. Both USB has no 5 volt signal, confirms that it is not even turn on by the motherboard... IP network card does not register itself with the router thus both comms are down.

My guess the only way is to open up the setup box and connect to the motherboard and flash the chip ...

In case there is something that I am not aware about, feel free to comment else hope this will help those who are following the thread. It is a pain in the a**. Adding insult to injury.

I exchanging it with the supplier .... knowing that it will happen again but hopefully it is in distant future ... those who are evaluating this, dun come near.

For those caught with this shit may want to consider these... (let share note on what works)
1. Maybe a surge protector may help ?!? or
2. better ventilation ?!?

This is an entertainment box, yet I feel like work .. haiz..

Hi, I go the same problem, tried to find a solution but not possible. Finally I bought DM800SE last week. But now face another problem with the recording.... it don't seems to work when I plug in the ext hard disk, but aleast can watch the channels.

Recording works using external hdd but if u have front processor 3 will got issue on standby clock.

u need to initialize hdd and mount before u can do any recording

u may flash other images and try again
remember to backup ur magic file before flashing

is MVHD HD800C the same? i have most channels except for 1 which my mum wants to watch. RUYI HOKKIEN Channel (Chn 852).

Checked the system information which revealed the version is V3 20120212.

Did a rescan didnt help either. but noticed some "failed" message(about 3 of them)

Are you aware that Ruyi channel is a demand TV channel? Only paid SH subcriber with their hubstation then can watch......
Anyway, most of our dreambox 500 and 800 series comes with about 30 demand TV in our channel list, which means that we sometimes get the signal if someone in your HDB block has paid and is watching it. Thats all... Its not readily avail all the time
I suggest you download the latest XML channel list for reference (Not to be used for FY boxes)

I've been using this boxx for almost six month and only recently found this forum.

I have the white color box and only today I understand why sometime my white box can scan many channel that my FY cannot.
