DM 800 hdp pvr remote not working after flash

Hi all this is my first post and im sorry im after some help, ive just reflashed my dm 800 hd pvr sim 201 via theweb with a new image (blackhole dream elite ssl76) and now the remote control will not operate the box.i have since reflashed with a few different images and its still the same , I read some where that the bootloader may have been corrupted (although im not getting a CA not found error or anything like that), it boots and wants me to select the type of video output eg DVI,SCART etc but i cant because the remote will not respond , can anyone advise me on what to do and is there a way of restoring the bootloader to factory conditions.

    01) hi there. i hope you have saved your keys and roms before you flashed.

    02) since your remote is down, could be a couple of reasons. is the remote battery ok? any way to borrow another similar remote to test?

    03) next would be your box. what bootloader it came with? the latest to date for DM800HD PVR is ssl#84b. you could google that and download that ssl first. then, go to DK download section and choose an image for DM800HD PVR that works with ssl#84b. make sure the ssl and the image are compatible. do not mix and match ssl/image.

    04) finally, flash these two software to your box and hope it works. sorry, i do not have any links to flashing tutorials but you can google them. also, do not forget your precious keys and roms after you flash your new image and box is working.

hope this helps, if not there are many bros here that can help also. cheers!

      roms and keys

Hi thanks for the reply ,i didnt realise that roms and keys have to be saved before a flash, i have not seen any mention of this on the forum, ill try your suggestion later,do i flash the latest ssl#84 using the firmware upgrate tab in the web browser (192.168.0.12) and then straight after flash in a relevant image,or use dream up.? Thanks for any advice you can give as im really stuck.

Some routers had different base IP address.
Commonly it is 192.168.1.x, whereas some Dlink routers default at 192.168.0.x , they are just IP addresses.

Dreambox don't assign IP addresses, they simply being assigned an IP address by the router it connected to by the router DHCP service.

Perhaps someone should not jump into conclusion and confuse noob in need of help.

Perhaps a pic of the box will be good

hi there, sorry late reply. this is what you would do :-

                01) firstly, flash the ssl#84b.

                02) reboot the box but no need to boot all the way. i usually let it boot halfway and i power off the box.

                03) secondly, flash your favourite image.

                04) reboot the box fully all the way.

                05) test the remote. hopefully it works.

                06) flash both the ssl and image using web browser method.

                cheers!!

ps - to view all SH channels, you will need those keys and roms. all images in the download section are without keys and roms. please take note.

                    Probably the IR module issue.
Did you happened to opened up the box and messed with the Front Panel?

There is some cabling near the SIM card, it is linked to the Front Panel.

From previous threads, there is also a discussion about some board are shipped with different regulator, and did not step down the voltage and was directly supplied to the FP, and results in hanging of LCD display, and that may affect the other circuitry, such as IR for remote control unit.

Need physical troubleshooting to diagnose the cause.
Unlikely downloading of common-used firmware would impair the sets.

did you buy the box online or from a local supplier? if local, can contact him/her to change the remote and test. if online, then maybe you can contact the seller but some people would prefer to order another remote online.

maybe you can also try sim lim tower.
