DM500 Stuck and won't boot up

Hi. I have a DM500C and it has been stuck with the green power light on for a number of days. There is no response and the TV reads "No Signal".

I have unplugged hoping that this would allow a re-boot but no luck with that.

Any ideas what might be the matter and how I can resolve this.

    A true DREAMBOX DM500C?
If yes, by yourself a DB9 Female-DB9 Female null-modem cable from pc cable accessories shop, and download the latest DM500 image with local customization and the version of dreamup. Search youtube on DREAMUP and DM500 for video tutorial.

Thanks. Previously I followed the DreamUp tutorial directions from YouTube. My connection was USB (from computer) to nine pin serial cable (at Box).

When I start the DreamUp and then plug in the Box, it is as if the DreamUp does not even see the Box connected. There is no progress at all with connecting, reading the Box model etc.

Could it be the version of DreamUp?

Very obvious, you never use null modem cable bro........

Stuck and wont boot-up. It has been time-BOMBED. Just reflash
            or
change flash chip 28F640 if Boot Loader is bombed.
( ofcos can use jtag for repair boot-loader but ... method sibechim)
Remember to back-up yr keys, etc n scce if possible.

This symptom had been posted repeatedly many time before.

How to flash a DB, pls read, dont wait for spoon feeding.

try a real serial cable not usb to serial converters.
i have tried loads of converters. but the best result came by buying old laptop with serial port and db9 cable .
if your pc got a serial port just buy the cable.

I second that! usb to serial converters are a pain and typically never work.

Yes, china made green adapter does not work.
Out of 100 piece, maybe 2 or 3 can work. That's a very high failure rate. Dont BUY this type

Any laptop with windows os would do. If u r using dm500c and dm800hd, u still need to buy the converter and null cable in case box is corrupted unlike dm800se, u don't need all that.
