    Noob requesting direction

    Hi,

I am a total noob at this dreambox stuff and I'm pretty lost. I have been browsing this forum for the past few days but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I am one of those ppl who got affected by the expiry date of the 'Wang Ka' on my DM900-CII and so have not been able to watch anything except FTA' channels which suck. I even bought a progger online to edit my 'Wang Ka' date but found that the card has been locked.

I am looking to purchase a DM500 unit which has the autoroll feature and is pre-loaded with S***H** channels. I only need to be able to watch TV and don't require HD or recording features.

Can any kind soul please PM me or direct me to a site where I can safely purchase such a China unit or even an original DM box? I know that for original box, I have to configure it by myself but with all the guides available here, I'm pretty sure it can be done. Or someone has source for new 'Wang Ka', that would solve all my problems.

      Thanks for the PM.

From reading forum, looks like S'pore govt will force everyone onto digital TV and cease transmission for the SCV point by 2017. Dunno how true but what do you think?

On a separate note, can I ask a noob question? If my house only have 1 SCV point, is there any way to connect 2 dreambox to it? Something like splitter... If can den I will consider getting a box so that can watch in my room as well as living room

whether digital or not, doesn't matter. continue watching free tv

u mean ur room got no scv point and u actually pull a signal cable all the way from living room? omg
use a splitter, there isnt any issue

Oh, so even if we are forced to go into IPTV via opennet point, we are still able to watch paid channels for free?

Yup, currently only my living room has a SCV point. I would like to get 2 dreamboxes - 1 for living room and 1 for own room. So I can actually tap the signal from 1 SCV point and use the splitter to connect to 2 boxes? Is this possible?

                Thanks,

I forgot to mention that right now, I am already using a 2-way splitter for my living room TV and SH BB modem. So to include another TV, means I have to split the signal into 3-ways. Would the signal strength be powerful enough to watch 2 TVs and browse the internet concurrently?

Sorry for asking so many dumb questions.

yes, you ask a qns which was answered many times. Well its obvious u got to 3 way splitter. Whether strong enough or not depends on your cable quality and length. If can watch, then it is a undue worries. If image freezing and pixelated then buy a signal booster
