Hi Thanks for you response. Ok After installation i restarted DM800. Still does not work. If your saying the usb device is faulty it isn't because i tried it on my pc. Thanks for you help. What else could be the problem?Comment

Have u tried a different image? Some image might not detect the usb adapter like mine, i could not get it work with open pli image.Comment

U need to try out various images to find out the compatibility of yr usb adapter. Since u know the italian image supports yr adapter, why not try it out or u could go with homeplugs for internet connection.Hi thats the problem i dont know which SG image supports it. Im using TP-Link WN727N ver 2 (chipset RT3070), it works for me using Newnigma2 v3.3.2 image.
BUT DO NOT buy the ver3 as it uses Ralink RT5370 chip, it cant work in DM800.Comment

Yes initially I was looking for v2 also but i couldn't find it so i settled with model this because some sources say it worked for them. But turns out it does not even after installing the drivers . Thank you my friend.Comment

Home plugs are expensive and i dont have enough sockets for them
Anyway how do i use an italian image if its not for SG. Im a little confused about this. If i can use that image and also retain SG channels i will do it. Im an extremely new and noob, ive just got the DM800 for a month. I only know how to use DCC and upload bouquets and install drivers. Sorry. Can you guide me to the right direction. Thank youComment

It would be good if you can show us the output of the lsmod.
Telnet to the box as root, and run the lsmod command.
The lsmod output will show if the module is properly loaded, or loaded but unable to startup.
I had encountered similar issue when I got the earlier release of Sunray4 WiFi box, a simple conf tweaking will resolve the module loading issue.Comment

Clearly shown that rt73 module is loaded. The driver is already loaded.
Unplug the dongle and reboot, after all is started, then plug in the dongle.
issue "dmesg" to see if any errors after plugging in the wifi dongle.
It will show u all the issue and errors after plugging in the dongle, this would tell u the cause of the problem.
May it be, invalid drivers, invalid address, invalid HWID identifier, etc etc..
And you need to tweak the kernel to let this driver to be recognised, if it is a enhanced version of Realtek Wifi module.
Try google for more solution when dealing with rt73 drivers in linux USB environmnt.Comment
