Hi Bro, pls note "support N3" what they mean is u can/may hv 2 subscribe to their CS, the box will not work independently.
Also must chk if there is a Lan support, if like CIII, no Lan, no support for CS in N3.
The Chinese r cunning give u some info with many reserved requirements that r needed for proper functioning.
Pls stick to DreamBox as I know it has bn tested n worked well in N3 IKS/CS in SG. Ofcos some other CN made too, but let them xplain to u.

Some Router that hv server port support ready and quite cheap for Bros who 1 2 experiment with Beta-Cshare experiment.

                  Oso read theis:

The issue facing now is the validity of the N1 stream.
Why would u want to spend more on dreambox if you know that the N3 conversion is likely to complete around Aug next year, coincide with the new season of English soccer matches back on Starhub?

FY HD800C, may be lousy and inferior, but look at the price tag, for a HD set, it is at least one-third cheaper than a Dreambox DM800HD.

If the N3 is not implementing any time soon, I would too recommend a Dreambox.
But for now, FY is a suitable budget unit, and with just about 1 year more or less to go, its good to be penny-wise.

Do you really need the plugins? the nice skins?
It's not that difficult to new channels to FY? The firmware does not get erased with a hardware reset, it is hard-flashed.

Don't get influenced by others with prejudice with FY, other than the exaggerated hardware issue, every hardware do failed, with respect to proportional ratio, I had handled much more faulty Dreambox800 than FYHD800.

I had spend 5-6 years with CATV set top boxes, starting with the analog plastic cartridge based units, to the Digital ones, DM900C-II, HQK-3388, and the more recent Dreamboxes.
My take, the boxes with legacy PCB components are more reliable that those box using surface mounted solid-state chips.

                        Be rational, spend wisely.

Forget about decoding N3 or spending on CS, not worth spending time and money.
With faster home broadband and SmartTV, do you still want to stick with CATV?

Btw, going back to the first image, of the back-panel of the box. There's spdif output, but is it not blocked in the picture? Does it mean digital audio out is not supported?
