500C causes my TV to make buzzing/humming noises

When when my dreambox 500c is connected to the TV, once in a while, it causes the TV to make buzzing noises that lasts for sometime. The sound is clearly from the TV and not from the dreambox because I put my ears next to the TV. This only happens when my dreambox is connected, it gets pretty irritating sometimes.

Any senior bros who have a solution to this?
Any one else who has this similar problem?

Quite easy try to replace your RCA cable 1st then post if still buzzing that could be the issue

Try Astrobox solution by changing the RCA A/V cables, if the problems persist, try buy/borrow a SCART convertor and connect your RCA A/V cable via SCART.

If above both also results in humming sound, there are two likely causes.

      1) The Dreambox motherboard audio system is faulty
      2) The TV RCA connector is faulty

To eliminate the faulty TV RCA possibility, plug in another video/audio devices (ie VCD/DVD player) to see if the humming sound still persist.

My guess is the highly likely faulty dreambox motherboard.
The EMF from the power supply/capacitors/regulators will generate noise interference, and leaked into the audio, and sometimes video output.

I had serviced few faulty dreambox boards with same issue, most of them, Top1 Dupengda boards and YangAn.
These are generally the older generation of DM500C boards.

The recent boards are generally more reliable and had least problems, and fixed/modded with louder audio volume.

Even the recent Top1 Dupenda batches, are modified to have loud audio volume.

But then, you won't know if the bulk dealers are clearing their old stockpile sets with soft audio volume.

Just ask any dealer for DM500C using Power500V8 boards, just to be safe. Or ask for quality assurance before buying.

UPDATE: I've switch the cables and so far, for a week, there is no buzzing noise (:

I also wish to fix the soft audio volume, hopefully.

              Bro Astro / Ultrakiasu

One of dm500c set has a humming zzzz sound when I power on the power at the pli image display screen, then when i tune into a channel, all the channels are working fine but and manage to hear the clear audio sound but in a minute time. it become totoally mute and a ZZzz sound again and mute. The cables are all working well because i try on a similiar set has no audio problem.
Could it be a old motherboard??

I also had another dm500c with green light always ON. i try to dream up but end up accidentally click on the flash erase and went to shower, when i came back only to reliase i click on the the flash erase, then i try to dream up and flash a new image but it fail. Is this box gone case already or i should throw it away??

if the audio only maintained for brief period of time, I am more or less certain that the either the DAC chip or the main processor having issue, yes, it also could be the motherboard as well.

Flash Erase does not clear the bootstrap image.
Your box may had other hardware related problems.

I always Flash Erase my "friends" boxes when their original image got corrupted.

It is always advisable for those flashing a openpli maxvar image to do a flash-erase prior to flashing to clear all old system customisation before new image flash.

I will always perform a Flash Erase on the box from unknown origins, becoz Flash Erase will clear any linux trojan or malware program residing in the box.

Anyway, I am using DreamUp 1.3.3.4

The first set with buzzing noise has been solve after i do a 2nd dream up. it is working perfectly.

The 2nd set that i flash erase accidentally was able to flash sucessfully after i flash a september pli image, thank bro DBTraitor for your file.

I had a 3rd set that when i flash , it say waiting for acknowledgement for a long time and it hang. i will try to get the set back from my friend and see whether i can do a dream up again.

Your 3rd set may need to change the chips if it still doesn't acknowledge

Try do at least 2 - 3 times flash erase first before flashing the image in.

If still cannot, Repeat the above for 2 more cycles before you do anything else

Are u using the usb to rs232 adapter? That also might be the likely cause.

I use the RS232 to boot up the other 2 dmc500 and it work, but only this set hang for a long time. perhaps the motherboard or chip spoil?

Bro, what me and ypvs125 mean is, are you using a laptop or desktop?

If you are using a adapter to your laptop to do flashing, you might want to find a computer with coms port and try. It may work. Strangely, that is wat I did as it happen to me several times. In my case, I can flash 3 box using adapter but 2 box cannot detect, so I switch to desktop and it works.

i am using rs232 cable with USB adaptor to my first desktop pc and which i got hang at the waiting for acknowledgement. the other 2 boxs which i flash works.

i try another desktop with rs232 cable without usb adaptor and the result was worse. manage to detect the set, but no loading and acknowlegdement at all.

so far i have not try with laptop yet.
