can't connect to dreambox with flash fxp

I migrated from a dbox 2 to an dream box 600. I wish I hadnt. I have tried using flash xp to connect to my box however it seems i have the incorrect password.
I have tried the following combinations;
root,dreambox
root,dream
root,
,
root,password

please can anyone help,

Do you have another box that you can confirm your setup on?

Then connect your dm600 up and give it the same ip address as your other box. You don't need to stick with whatever ip address is on the box, you can change it to match your network.

What image do you have on?

can you tell us what your trying to connect to it for?have you disabled the firewall ?if you need to flash with a new image using dreamup and that way all the information will be clean or is there another reason for you trying to connect? casue i ahve a 600 and can assure you its defo root and dreambox

SO its a new box and you want to put a new image on it? As ted says, use Dreamup mate and flash a new image on which will wipe it and the login details will be defaulted and you will have no issues from there...

dont flash using fxp use dreamup to flash it

Welcome Keith, first you should read through some of the previous posts over the last few months as you will find your situation has been experienced by many a noob (I was one myself not so long ago and these guys here got me going). Read through the solutions/answers offered. This will give you a grounding for what is involved and give you some familiarity with possible remedies and what people are talking about.

If you still feel confused you should also check out the 'stickies' which are in red text at the top of the Dreambox section. There you will find many different instructions and ways of doing things with pointers to the apps you should use depending on what you are trying to achieve.

You will see on the left a 'new thread' button, use this if you wish to start a new post for your DM500 issues, let us know what type of service you wanna use it for, i.e. cable, sat, etc etc. Best to state if it is a 'new' box or second hand as you might have other issues to deal with first. Let us know as much as poss and we will see what we can do..
