    which evocamd is more stable

I flashed my DM 500c with the PLI Jade 2 last night and installed 2.17 EvoCamd - didnt clear channels

re-flashed and this time installed EvoCamd 2.13 and this cleared channel.

Evocamd 2.17b works and updates for me fine - although I use an older one as it's much smaller and takes up less space in var.

Evocamd 2.17b needs to be installed and the name needs to be evocamd in lowercase in needs to have attributes set at 755, also roms need to be in scce and attributes need to be set to 755 - keys need to be in keys and you need the following:

      Autoupdate.Key
      camd_cfg
      Keylist.txt
      rsakeylist

All file names are case sensative.

      That's all folks.....

Also evocamd 2.13 works best for cable - 2.17 just adds extra stuff if you're using it for sat tv.

On the dreambox500 the reason it shows up as empty is because it looks in:

          /var/etc/plimgr/cams/

for a file with the cam name - just make a blank file in notepad and call it evocamd (lowercase) ftp it to the above location - then when you reboot your box evocamd will show up in the softcamd menu.

Technically you don't even need this file if only running 1 cam - but you won't be able to choose between cams if this file is not present.
