DM500 image for DM600??

I have a DM500C that works fine now

And I have a DM600C that is unable to view channels at all with the error: "all known transponders have been tried but no lock was possible"

Was wondering if I could use the DM500 image and flash it on the DM600?

Or is there any files I can copy over to make it work? I read somewhere .xml file can be copied over to DM600?

The boxes do not share images mate you can transfer the services and bouquets tho. If using DK image on your 500 them go to user features and backup services. Then ftp into your 500, transfer the comtents of the servicesbackup file (in tmp) to your 600.

you say that you have a 500c up and running.
who did this? you? if so then you should already know about ftp.
if not, then download an ftp programme, such as flashfxp (available from this site )
and then follow the guide

the DM500 was not setup by me and the source is not contactable anymore.

I am now able to FTP to the DM600 using FlashFXP.

As for DM500, I am unable to login using 'root' and 'dreambox' as password. Is there any other password that is commonly being used?

I'm using a Jade Pli imange (not DK image), how do I backup the services that is to be transferred?

Not sure about the Login for the PLi images as I have never used one but they are so popular I should imagine the user/password is on here somewhere.

<edit> Just had a quick look on the PLi website... and root / dreambox seems correct.

Services and Bouquets

Navigate to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/ copy all the services and bouquet files from here to the same folder on your 600.

Navigate to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/cable copy all the user bouquet files from here to the same folder on your 600.

You should just then be able to plug in and play, no scan required. If you are using a raw PLi image you will need a UK cables.xml should you need to scan in the future. This is available in the Dreambox downloads.

OK now I Have sussed where you are from I can Help.
The 500 your talking about does it AU online?
Be very carefull about what files you copy from the 500 to the 600. There's a nasty little killer file hidden that will KILL BOTH BOXES. If this is what your trying to do PM me & I will tell you what to do.
For the password problem do you have tuxbox commander on the box or can you install it? If you have goto /var/ect & look for 2 files: passwd- & passwd if you have both delete passwd & rename passwd- to passwd if you dont have both come back here & ask.

I posted the services file your looking for do a search on my post & you will find it attached.
Then do as jamesredfern posted to get it to work.

ps dont mention the name of provider or place you are in the penalties are extreem in your area.
