I have flashed my dreambox 5000c wit Darkstar 2 im livin in wexford ireland on chorus and im just wantin to no how u put irish cable.rar file on or any rar file on the box i dont think im putin them on right and how do u no if their on the box properly if their done right

witha .rar file you have to un-rar it first using a program such as winrar or 7zip

yeah once youve unrarred the file,you can ftp it across

thats right now copy it over to var/tuxbox & over write the one in there. reboot & then scan. Are you chorus mmds if so you need the terrestrial.xml

not sure which one i have, i just have a pipe come into the house an were getin about 20 channells off it how would i no hich one i have

its not even pickin up the transponders now let alone the channells

when you scan does it lock onto anything?
try a manual scan.

You have a Dreambox 500c and your in Wexford Town as far as I know they are using the Dreambox 500T its Chorus all over Wexford

no it never locks onto to the transponders
the old time it scans for channells for noting at the end of it not even the free channels like rte etc...
im not realy sure wat feq to use or symbol rate on manual scan
