Yeah I'd intended to keep it to one thread but i got a scare when I came across this one so wanted to ask. I'll leave the other thread.

Can you clarify a couple of things for me?

1) Have I did any damage already to my subbed card? I have plugged it in to the dreambox but couldn't get it working probably due to not entering the boxkey.

2) What damage can you do to your subbed card if you are just using it to view the enrypted channels?

Probably no damage done,you cant just put your card in and expect encryted channels to clear.
General set up will require boxkey/ird for starters.

The only thing I didn't do was the boxkey thing. I already installed various cams with CS and had them configured.

So if I did get the box key setup and view the encrypted channels, what would actually happen on the card? what data would be written?

I've always had in the back of my mind that cable as we know it will come to an end and I just wanted to play with card sharing in the house to see how to go about it. If this did happen surely real subbed cards would be used on the dreambox?

you get the boxkey from 'glitching' or unlooping the card.

using the card in the dreambox is ok,
its the unlocking part of the card to get the data to use card

if your going to use an n1 card you would be best using newcamd once you are able to get the dreambox to read the card you would then start to add othere box on your net work had this working for a while for a friend and was trying to see how many people i could get to read from the server but no one wanted to play so only had it working with 4 people for a while to see it run

ok u can ftp and know ur way around the box wit cams etc
so 1st get a unlooped nag1 card and a cheap phoenix proggy and
wen u have ur boxkey come back and we will help u get sorted

Hi Red Devil.
Could you explain the step by step of getting a fun card to work on a dm500?
Im aware you might tell me to just ftp etc, but would be nice to get it goin with a card (thats the card ive got spare anwyay). My reason for this is ive already got the cas 3 and one wanted to experiment with this and second Its easier to just to program a card rather than disconnecting my setup if it scrambles....

fun card...not yet m8, had some issues wit that i havent sorted yet but if read this thread from the start it tells exactly how to do it, to do this u need to be able to glitch and programme a nagra1 card and also flash and ftp to ur dreambox that is the first step, wen u can do that we can help u.

yes if your in the uk your card will be on the nagra 1 system also you will need to see what rev the card is if you dont have a glicher you will need to get one or maby you might be able to get an open rom card of a site and maby just maby some one on here might pm you a bk to put in it long shot but save you having to open your own card

and why do I need a bk? I was only planning to use it on my dm500.
Also I have nagra nagraedit 5.2, there is an option on there to unlock the card but it keeps asking for a password, a hex key???

a glitcher or unlooper unlocks the card, google powersync, t911 or dual unlooper
the bk ie box key is needed for newcamd to read the card ie decrypt chanells, and nagra edit 4.1 is wat u need, the unlock option in nag edit is for cards that have been unlooped or unlocked and then had backdoor password changed to prevent someone else from reading the card

ive not done it with newcs but works perfect with newcamd6.10b and enter your bk in the cardserv config file see below
