Firstly This is a guide - just for information to the noobs, all seasoned dreambox owners should know this stuff already.
OK let me start by telling you noobs that the services file is the part of an enigma image that deals with what channels you have managed to scan on to your dreambox.
It is split into two parts - the first part deals with transponders and the second part deals with found channels on those transponders.
If you were to open a cables.xml file and look at it you would see some transponder details in that - and if you opened a services file you would see transponders are give a frequency and a transponder id - I won't go into this part for this guide as it's fairly simple to understand - what I will do though is explain what all the other crazy numbers mean.
In the second part of a services file - (the part that deals with found channels) you will find some info something like this:
Ok lets break each line down to see what it means:
line 1:
line 2:
Self explanitary - Sky Screen 1 - this is the name of the service
line 3:
Obvioulsy now you know what this info means you can manually add your own missing channels to your services file if your box fails to pick up certain channels on a scan due to a weak tuner.
You can get channels info from a m8 in your area by looking at the menu/information/streaminfo menus.
Laters - peace out!
