The proper 500c boxes stopped production 2 years ago, I think that's the biggest clue of all.

Unless you are buying from a dream multimedia approved seller, it's a clone. Some dream approved sellers may still have stock from back then but they will probably be about ?130-?150.

Visually, they're 99% identical. Maybe the print on the main board will be different or the tuner is different or some components are from a different manufacturer.

clones accept the same images as the orignal ones
expect if you get a faulty image, you will have to jtag your dreambox

                  Clone box?

Hi, all. I have the same problem, can flash OK, but does not lock signal out, so no channels.
Only been trying to fix this since boxes last went down.

clones come with rca leads, where originals dont....

                      also.....

                      clones are a lot cheaper......

there are prob a lot more clones than originals....

clones dont usually have valid and dream on in the hollogram...

also try puttiung a laser on it??? should come up with a wizard and birds i think?

But then a clone seller could just take them out to make it seem real, not a definitive test.

The main sign, but again a seller could just charge a lot to make it seem real!

My hologram looked ok. BUT the security/warranty sticker on the back did NOT tear when I opened it. These should be security stickers that tear so manufacturers know it was opened, and it voids warranty.

But again a smart clone seller could replace these.

by the looks of things, if you have orginal and you break the seal on it by opening the box. Your warranty with dreammedia is now void and dead.

If it is a clone and you break seal on box by opening it. It appears you will still get 12 months warranty on it.
