    DLNA / uPnP on DM800HD

    Hi all,

I am trying to stream my videos from my NAS to the box.
I've tried plugins downloaded from the system and also installed plugin to the system but to no avail

Can someone guide me (step-by-step, cause I'm a noob at the system as a first time user and totally clueless on linux language) on how I can get it up and running?

My DM800HD is using Enigma 2.

    Thanks in advance.

The easiest option is just to mount the network share and use mediaplayer to play the file.

You can mount the network share from your NAS using a plugin called NetworkBrowser by going into Setup, System, Network, Lan Connection (or wlan if you have this set up), MountManager. (or networkbworser, then mounts management).
When mounting a network share chose CIFS, not NFS, unless your NAS has NFS service running, but this is not so common.

Some images (like nemesis I think) have this already pre-installed, otherwise just go to your plugins list, press manage extensions and find it under the network group and install it.

The mediaplayer seems to play any type of vids from my NAS, be it avi, mkv, ts or anything, it also supports DTS and Dolby which is nice, though I have yet to figure out how to get embedded subtitles working.

the network mounts manager is also nice if you wanna have your files recording to a network share instead of the limited space you get on a memory stick or whatever.

I hope this is somewhat helpful.

oh and if you are using the stock image that came with it, I recommend you download a different image, the stock image is a bit fiddly with installing plugins sometimes, see my post here for help on this:
