        to help with above post

        Recording from Dreambox to PC
To record from your Dreambox 500 to your PC hard drive, you need to install the following software in your PC:
1 - Install NGrabSetup-1.7.75 in your PC "Unfortunately only in German Language"
2 - After Install you will see NGrab Icon in the Task Bar ... Right Click and go to "Einstellungen..."
3 - Go to "dBox Einstellungen" ... Enter your Dreambox IP address 192.168.???.???" and Port number. 4000 is good
        4 - Go to Grundeinstellungen
5 - Go to DateiSystem Einstellungen ... Setup here where you want to Record Movies
        6 - Go to Dateiereiterungen
        7 - Go to WinGrabEngine

Here is what you need to do in your Dreambox
1 - Use your Dreambox Remote Control to Menu > Setup > Expert Setup > Ngrab Streaming Setup , and write your PC IP Address 192.168.???.???. After this click blue button in your Remote Control to Detect MAC Address , and then Save it with green button
2 - You are ready to Record Movies in your PC
3 - Click Yellow button in Remote Control and you will see (may be blue button plugins)
        1. Start Ngrab recording
        2. Stop Ngrab recording

Im using the DK image and there is no sub menu for STARING or STOPPING ngrab. On other images I have seen these options under the YELLOW and BLUE panel but not for the Digital Kaos image?

How do you start recording with DK?

Hi. I had Ngrab working successfully and recording to an NDAS device from my laptop. However recently it has stopped working. When I right click on the icon and select "Einstellungen" it gives an erro message "..."Run time error 76 ..Path not found". I have tried downloading and iinstalling the latest version of Ngrab on my Dell Vostro 1700 Laptop running Windows Vista. When installed and an attempt is made to start the program the run time error "Error 429 ..Cannot create active x object" appears. The Ngrab program can be started from "Programs" and the icon appears in the system tray. However the same "Error 76 .. Path not found" occurs. I have installed the Ngrab program on an old desktop running Windows XP and there is no problem. I have spent hours researching the problem .. all to no avail. I have used ccleaner to tidy up the hard drive and registry etc. Any help would be most appreciated.

                      Hi there,

Do you leave these as they are?

I'm also trying to do the same as jake, im currently using a
PLI Jade image which already has Ngrab in the plug ins, is it just a case of putting Ngrab onto my lappy and hitting record after configuring all the above?

                      Ta.
