I have been a member on here for a while now but have rarely posted.. I have in the past owned a "The Box" "The Box (starview) PVR" (pile of shite) and lastly a cable dreambox, these were all back in the pre Nag3 days....for the last couple of years my DM500C has lived in a box in the loft. and I have used a satellite set up however a recent move has meant I have not set the dish back up ...yet.
I was browsing the forum in the last 2 days and seen that there is much talk in the dreambox cable section section.
I have read back a few pages worth of posts and have successfully managed to confuse myself completely (not unusual) So, I have a couple of questions if I may.. Is the DM500C a viable option now? I appreciate that it will need to be connected to my router and have certain lines added to a config file to achieve anything other than free view. something I am very familiar with from my satellite set ups.
If it is a viable option could I be kicked in the general direction of somewhere useful to do the necessary reading to make the above possible?
If I am way off the mark with any of my above assumptions please feel free to tell me. and I will either look at getting my dish installed again or giving up completely
