DM500 automatic scan DK image NW London

I'm in NW London (Neasden) and i'm trying to do the auto scan. It wouldnt let me do the scan for NW London - told me to try another network - tried a few for other areas of london - same thing.

I done the bruteforce scan for UK - got terrestial service - left on sky sports1 for 15mins nothing came up.

I've updated the latest keys and rom files.

Anyone got any suggestions as to what I do? And I'm not too sure what the bruteforce scan actually is and if it would work this way?

    help greatly appreciated.

    cheers

The Bruteforce scan is TW and NTL combined. So if you're not sure which area you're in, use the Bruteforce option. Ideally, if your area is not in the list, scan using the 'CableUK Sym6887' or 'CableUK Sym6952' options. 6887 is for NTL and 6952 is for TW.

    To get premium channels...

    Download files from here...

    Code:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/186278803/db_keys_and_scce.zip
Delete the contents of the /var/keys and /var/scce folder on your box.

Copy the contents of the keys folder in the rar to /var/keys and the same with the scce folder to /var/scce.

Go to sky sports 1, press MENU > SHUTDOWN > reboot now

When it reboots, flick to sky sports 2, wait 5 secs, the flick back to sky sports 1. Wait until the channel comes on.

Generally you know from the list in the scanning menu but we can't include EVERY area, that's why the Bruteforce option is there.

done as said - still no joy - been on sky sports for about half an hour - not came up.

I will maybe try from scratch - reload image etc.

          i'll update with latest info.

          cheers

i've reloaded the image, copied the contents of the keys and scce folder to the keys and scee folder on box. Done the Bruteforce scan, went to skysprts1, rebooted, went to skysports 2 - waited 5 secs, went back to skysprts1.

It hasnt worked - its still on the channel just in case and will leave it there to see if it eventually works.

Any other ideas as to what could be the problem?

like i said - the terrestrial tv works, just not premium.

Hold INFO for 3 secs and the EMU manager should appear.

Press OK and it will restart evocamd. Flick to SP2 then back to SP1 and see if it comes on.

will post back in a bit - i reset the to factory defaults and tried one of the other scans for ntl or telewest (not bruceforce). One scan didnt work and one is picking up the channels so i guess that must be the right one.

will update if it works and will try what u said above.

another question, when the fix was released - i had a friend who said that i should delete all content in the scce folder (except for the ones with ending in 7).

Is this right? I have not done this but maybe I should?

When the first release came out, only rom7 was fixed. So rom10 and rom11 still auto updated but updated with wrong keys so sometimes the box would use rom10 or rom11 to update and they keys would still be wrong, you wanted it to AU on rom7 which would give correct keys. So at that time, only rom7 was needed. But later on, rom10 and rom11 were also fixed so it's beneficial to have all 3 sets of rom files on your /var/scce folder.
