Normally, clones come with sim2. Specifically, DM800 come with sim2.01 and DM800se sim2.10.
Now that A8P sim is available, I was wondering if I should get one and replace my sim2.10.
Clones with sim2.01/sim2.10 need to be careful of the images they install. The images must be contain:
Bootloader that is modified from the original like SSL84a or SSL84b. (SSL84 is the original bootloader).
Drivers that are no later than 2011-11-09.
Collectively, the above requirements are called "images meant for clones".
My understanding is, if I use a A8P sim, I no longer need to be careful. I can use any images: images meant for original, as well as for clones. Is this right?
I know of only 1 drawback of A8P sim. It is "cccam cannot be used on the same IP address of the dreambox".
What does this mean, especially for SG users?
