GP just indicates it has a Gemini image on. A lot do when 1st delivered. I would recomment changing to DK.

You dont have to have a null modem cable to flash. A cross over cable can be used or regular network lead through a router (you'll need these anyway to apply the Keys and Roms). That way you can flash using telnet (see my previous post with link )

wen u flash the DK image (or any image) it overwrites the image on the box, need any more help come back, lots of ppl willin to help

Did you tick the DCHP box in the network settings?

hi everyone, if you look at tutotorial i posted on page 1 i am getting to flashfxp typing ip username and password just keep getting connection failed(connection timed out) any ideas what problem could be? any help would be appreciated tx in advance

Couple of things to check:
Is there a yellow led lit in the box? you should see it thru the vent holes on the top of the box?
Use internet explorer to test the connection, in the address bar type

or what ever you ip on the box is

image i am using is dk_v1.1 and i am getting bbc ect but anytime i start the flashfxp prog just cant connect i am using vista and wireless laptop with ethernet from router to dreambox

Have you set flashfxp in the firewall exceptions list?

looked into that dan it is now in exceptions list, tried everything again still connection failed with flash fxp
