Have you flashfxp set to port 21 or 80?

flash fxp is set to 21

Reboot the box check the connection settings in network settings & ftp using flashfxp & IE . Rebooting sometimes changes the settings

tried that a few times allready ,today i have had 3 differnet ip numbers on box no joy, connection failed,whats my next step is there any other way,tx for trying to help, is it worth me starting over again from beginning or is that pointless, is there another prog that does same as as flashfxp i could try,just seem to be hitting a brick wall, thers a couple of cow pies in it for you if i get through this

When i ran into this trouble i used flashfxp & IE to rule out a software or connection problem. Try connecting directly to the box with the cable from the router & untick the dchp box set the ip address close to your laptops. & don't forget the network settings for the ethernet.

u could try a direct connection with a crossover cable if u can get one, ive always found this to be the easiest way to connect in a hurry, especially goin round to my mates house to ftp a fix

hi red devil tx for helping followed your link i i have internet protcol version 6 tpc/ipv6 and
internet protcol version 4 tpc/ipv4 what one do i put new ip and subnet mask in i am using vista if that helps

Hi m8 that tut is for crossover cable not standard patch router cable seem that could be ur prob

ye using what i was told was a crossover cable i bought it online .now i have my doubts, whats the exact name for it, one i bought was Network Cat-5E UTP Crossover Cable is that the right one ? many tx again m8, things starting to bug me usually get someone to do my cable bits and bobs want to learn myself save the hastle cheers again stags

type of wire should not make any difference as long as its wired properly

is there a tut for vista as the above is for xp as vista has few differnet settings,ipv6 and ipv 4 and is there an alternative prog to flash fxp as i am positive i am doing everything correctly tx
