DM500 Dreambox 500 newbie part 2

Hi all,
I am new to this as my previous threads have stated,I have managed to flash the digital kaos v1.1 image to my dreambox and it works well although only the free channels are up and running,it does have the info for other channels but these are not visible when I turn to the relevant channel,what am I doing wrong?
Also this morning the remote control decided not to work?new batteries etc nothing,any clues,your help is appreciated,cheers
