DM500 is it possible to flash using crossover cable?

hey im a complete noob at this... but i have a db500c and dk image not sure what version... now my box only lets me watch certain channels like 3e, comedy central, rte1, discovery turbo now(im in ireland)...
my question is can i put a new image on with a crossover cable?
i got my box and computer talking on flashfxp... and tried putting in the new roms as mentioned in other thread but i have no keys or scce folder in roms!

can i put on a whole new image with flashfxp(or other software)
and crossover cable?

if so could someone give me a step by step guide..

i wont provide a link to guides.. but yes a xover cable can be used. Cross overs were intially built for device to device usage.. its only when routers and switches came in on the scene that straight through was created. but now things are more advance and basically any cable will do .
