My VM cable feed is not strong enough?!

    Hi all

I have 2 cables boxes and virgin media modem sharing from one feed (4 way splitter)

When i connect 2 boxes to the splitter, the modem READY light starts blinking (low/no signal) and no connection is made.

However if i disconnect the 2 boxes and connect only modem it works, no problems..How irratating it is!

So i have come to a conclusion that my feed is only strong enough for the internet...i also use the yelllow booster.

How can i boost the signal in the green box on my street? i think this should solve the problem... Any suggestions would be very grateful!

    thanks

i have one feed coming into the house , it is then split 2 ways. 1 go's upstairs to 1 box , the other is then split again 1 to vm box , 1 to cable modem , i have never had any probs . it might be your 4way thats the problem.

also check your connection on your coaxial cables. I had trouble with mine. They should stick out about half a centimetre from the screw plug

It is my understanding that the cable lines that are on the top tier have a stronger signal path than those in the lower tier inside the green box it looks pretty much like a telephone switch board from the 1950's in there!

Your cable line should have your door number tag on it pull it out and replace it with someone's that is at the top of the switch board!

Just ask virgin for an RG11 cable to be installed as you have bad levels.
