DM800 and Virgin

Hi Guys

Couple questions if you don't mind.
Can you please let me know if a DM800 converted with a Cable tuner would work for Virgin?
Second as alternative option,which is the best box you suggest for Virgin with auto update and how much cost?
Is it making sense buy or convert to a cable box for Virgin or there are changes going on?

Cheapest option is a 500c clone mate google it theres great support for it as well
