hi all i want to put a fresh version of dk1.1 on my box its on d.w 2.1 now can i press on flash erase first in dreamup will this wipe my previous imge clean and install new image

Just by installing a new image will wipe the old one from the box.
And yes, when installing a new image, it's always best to select YES to flash erase after install. Unless you are flashing a backup image where in this case you select NO because if you select yes it will erase all the backed up information, i.e. services, bouquets, keys, etc.
