hi to all. ive just purchased a dm500c and need some help. could somebody tell me which patch to put in it please. i have dream-up and a null modem cable, thanks. p.s. does a cable patch have a ng a.u. function like a satellite box or do u have to input the keys manually like on d**i-tv on 1 west

load a new image to the box, maybes dk 1.1 available in the downloads Digital Kaos - Downloads - Digital Kaos v1.1 Image for Dm500 C/S/T

ftp over the keys to var/keys, dont ftp over things from the /scce folder, just keys RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

then download and ftp over auto update fix to var/scce RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

go to sky sports one, restart box using remote then wait for it to update the keys, once a picture appears all channels should then be open

It should be noted that you need a cross-over ethernet cable if your wanting to edit the keys via FTP. Something that I missed on when I was first setting up.

This is different to a regular Ethernet cable.

Ah, I bought a router but left it in the box, in hope of returning it and getting my ?35 back. So I can use a regular ethernet cable to the router?

i've tried several versions of the how to's on here then i've had to delete and start again but your's worked (69th time lucky!?) so cheers u superstar Claire

i think ive made a huge mistake!, so what ur saying is i cant just patch the box then plug it in like i do with my el 3020 ir super ( satellite)

Yes. Its firmware loaded to the box that unlocks what you need.
