I have a Dreambox 500c clone which is not working.
Its connected via scart to TV and when I plug the power cord into the Dreambox the TV switches to a blank blue screen and as there does not seem to be a signal the TV then switches back to channel 1 after a few secs.
When you plug the power cord into the Dreambox the green light on the front comes on straight away. Presing the standby button does nothing, and when you press any button on the remote control the green light at the front just flickers.
I have sucessfully flashed it with a null modem cable and serveral different images including Gemini 3.2, DW 1, and DW 1.6.5 using old and new versions of Dreamup (all flash erase) but still the same.
This may or may not be related but the power cord stopped working on it one day so I ordered a new one online.
While waiting for new cord a mate tried using the power cord from something else which had the same connection and 12 volt supply but was only 0.8 amp instead of the 2 amp (that the dreambox power cord has).
I had not turned it on since, and when I plugged in new power cord discovered the blue screen issue.
Could this have blown something inside? The device hardly drawns more than 0.8 amp anyway?
Thanks for any help
