hi, i am using the image "gemini-420-dm600pvr-200712172013" and would like to scan for all cable channells but it thinks i am using a satellite dish, please could you suggest the best image to use if appropriate (other than gemini) and suggest how i would do a bruteforce scan. i could do this scan before but when i flashed my new image on the box it wiped everything off, please help, i live in the manchester / oldham area ( ex ntl ), will apprechiate any reply, thanks
    chris.

If you want to carry using this image you may just need a cables.xml.

    Digital Kaos - Downloads - Cables.xml

Copy this cables.xml file to /var/etc and reboot.

managed to copy cable.xml but still having problems

even though i have copied cable.xml into the folder you said, when i try and do a scan, my box still thinks that i am using it for sky as it doesnt come up with a bruteforce scan for cable, i tell it to do an automatic transponder scan and it comes up with,
        simple/default
        frequency bands
        frequency steps
it usually said bruteforce for virgin, please help
        thanks
        chris

Try copying the file to /etc/tuxbox as opposed to /var/etc.
          DM600s are different, sorry.

              abit more help

i'm learning so much about the dreambox by your instructions, i have done all of that with the image i had on, did a scan and found all the channells, most of them were balnk and didnt get any sound or video, just flashed my box again to a older version of pli images i cant remember which 1 and ive put the cable.xml file in it again, just doin a scan now, hopefully fingers crossed it will work, would you be able to provide a link or something which enables to get me more cable.xml files and also some of the naughty ~~~~ challells like spice extreme, i'm 18 years old for gods sake, give me some slack thanks again for helping me previously mate,
hope to hear from you soon,
              chris.
