Scan and Update Services/channels - DM500

Is there a way (ie plugin) to scan the services and update the servicecs to replace the channels that have changed frequencies or PIDS?

I used to have a DBox2 which has that function, but the dreambox doesnt. I was quite suprised actually.

The DBox 2 not only replaces and updates the service it also retains the service in its bouquet.

Any help ideas ???

I know that you can do it manually and individually if you know the frequency of the channel which has changed.
or rescan the lot.
I use dreambox edit program to arrange all my channels.

Thats my point exactly, even if one does a rescan of the whole lot it shouldnt duplicate services. Can be a teedious process going through each service one by one deleting and rearranging them back into their bouquests. I personally like experimenting with the Dreambox but even I get annoyed having to link it back up to my PC just to delete duplicates. Granted you can do it on the remote but danm me if im gonna sit there going through 200 channels....

Its a simple task the Dreambox be able to support. Even the Starview didnt duplicate services when rescanned. If theres no plugin that can it might consider going back to DBox2. Thought Dreambox was a step forward.

The last dbox2 I had seemed to be more powerful as regardings making changes, not as stable a picture though.but this dreambox is so far very stable and good picture quality.
So I am satisfied with it.

I khow there is a setting where the 500c auto updates because my box is auto updating (same as the arnet kryptview in s/by mode).
The only problem is any unwanted services are also coming back in.

I cannot remember how to change this but this may be what you need.

If anyone knows how to stop the auto update services option it would be much appreciated.

Thats not the feature im talking about. Thats for blind scans. I know how to turn that feature off in Gemini go to find [Expert Setup] within the [setup] menu asnd untick [Servicename Update].

yeah, thats not the same image as mine but its similar to the DK 1.1 image.
Mine in expert setup says 'Disable services update' and you can have ticked or not. I have it ticked.

Hi m8 read the site information at the forum homepage and basically do a bit of research on the forum its not too difficult. (to download an image)

But getting back to the point in hand, I wonder if theres a way to get the DM500c to simple replace the servies that have been altered by the cable company rather than making duplicates, or some sort of plugin, ANYTHIN??? Even a plugin that could delete the duplicate entries and keep the active services.

Get your bouquets sorted out using dreambox edit or the box itself , then in dreambox edit double click on the services you dont want and in the box that comes up , there is an option down the bottom left to simply hide this service if you want.

Once you have done this to every one you dont want to see again FTP the files using the same prog and voila, no more of these services show.

All your duplicates and crap will only show up in all services, your bouquets should have been unaltered?

No, go to Digital Kaos - Downloads - Dreambox edit . V3.0

Install prog, then ftp your bouquetservice files to your pc (get the prog set up 1st).
Once you have ftp'd the files across (in options in prog, set default for dm500 settings) the prog will know where the dreambox files are and once ftp'd you can alter them to suit yourself.

Then save the altered files and then ftp them across to the box and voila.

Just take a bit of time and get to know the prog.
