DM500 Got drunk last week, messed up my Dreambox!!! (Please help!!!)

This is my first post, fairly new to the cable scene, I am quite computer literate, but I'm stuck with this problem.

I've searched all these forums, downloaded and done all sorts of things to no avail. If somebody could help it would be very much appreciated!!!

I've got a dreambox 500c, it was working great with all the channels, no problem.

Then I drunk a bottle of red wine, and started exploring the menus a bit. One of the menus I remember was "Panic Button". I remember thinking "Wonder what that does?" then I remember thinking "Don't like the look of that..." then I remember my finger pressing it. (After which, I don't remember anything...)

Anyway, end result, I've got all the FTA channels, but none of the good stuff. The premium channels are listed but just show black screen.

I've tried reflashing the box... I've tried messing with the key codes but wasn't sure what was the correct key for my area... I've tried various other stuff but can't get it back the way it was.

If anybody can please help me I'd really appreciate it, and I promise never to touch another drop ever again!!!

you will nedd to add the keys and scan again.panic button will erase the boxes keys so to make it look like a FTA .

I've got a dreambox 500c, the firmware came with is pretty old. I am looking for an updated firmware to use in it.. I hope to get a link from someone in this forum.

Been there done that.... I even tryed flashing my dreambox with a wii game once whilst pi$$ed. . Happy days !

Loving this thread, thought it was only me that done things like that whilst under the influence!!!!

I also found out that flashing dm8000 images into your dm500 doesnt make it a HD box

It seemed a goood idea after about seven Vodka & Red Bulls

Got the problem sorted. Used a key updater plug in which sorted it out in seconds!!!

Ah yes the button for when VM are knocking on your door!. You need to start again from scratch i.e flash a new image , download and install keys and cam.
