Disable services udate

I have ran a good few searches to cure this problem, which is the 500c box contiues to scan for missing channels.
I have all the ~~~~ and crap channels removed but a few hours later they are back on.
I am using the DK 1.1 image and have went in to expert set up, and then put a tick opposite disable services update. Then reboot the box.
I thought this would cure the unwanted channels problem but it has not.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction! hmmmm2:

Have you tried Menu > Setup > Satellite and transponders > Disable background scanning ?

I cant see a 'Satellite and transponders' icon after I go into set up ,...... only
1.service scanning,
2 service searching,
3 system settings.
4.expert setup

I am using the Pli image so it is different on my dreambox. Try looking in 'Expert Setup' and disabling service updates.

cheers m8, I'll check again, but the dream edit program has a option to hide services so i might just see if that works.

Still not having any luck with this. I have a tick opposite disable services update, and everytime I delete the channels either using the remote or with dreambox edit, they still gradually appear when you are in 'all services'.

I just cant understand why!

You probably need to delete them from the 'all services list' so they are completely removed from your box.

Yes, I have deleted them from this list and they still keep appearing back into this list.

I have now ftpd the files from the box to my pc using dreambox edit and removed the unwanted channels by deleting the provider id for example 01E, 02C, 04A etc then also deleted them from the all services list., saved this then ftp'd it back to the 500c.

It looks ok just now but they may appear back again tomorrow.
I will let you know.
