Straming over the internet

I've been trying to set up a network for streaming over the internet. I have set up a no-ip address and set up my router for port forwarding. My lad is in Lincoln and i gave him my details for him to test it for me. He can login and says it's asking him to install a plug in and then says no plug in available.

He can access the box as he can turn over my channels. Now when i try and watch tv myself using webx tv a window opens and says waiting for video for stays black. If i choose the buttons above the window ie epg it gives a full epg and streming info etc. If i choose the video button a box comes up saying Please select subchannel and it the dropdown box it says none.

I can connect using dreambox viewer and stream to my lappy and record.
Any suggestions ?

You can't just log into the dreambox web interface over the internet and stream since your upload speed would not be fast enough. To do this you need a pc always on to re-encode the video to a lower resolution and bitrate suitable to stream over the net.
You should be able to use the web interface over a lan no problem. I'm not sure why you get a blank screen. Which image are you using? Have you tried using vlc?

I'm using DK 1.1 and vlc. I followed this tut Digital Kaos - Downloads - How to Stream Dreambox channels over the Internet

So your saying that i cannot log in and watch the box remotely ?

Try Pli Jade2 image...Ive found that to be the best image for streaming from DK, Enigma and DW Dream Neutrino (Not tried Nabilosat)
