DM500 Watching streaming TV on box

Hi, I have a dreambox 500c and I am sure that if I connect it to the internet I should be able to watch streaming TV on it any idea on how I can do this. Talking to a mate of mine who lives in Tenerife he is totally tech clueless and he got someone to set a box up for him and he claims he can get 1000's of channels through the web. Any tips would be great, using dk1.1 image if that helps

Thats called card sharing used more for satellite box's than cable box's and it's true.
