    About my new dreambox

    Hey all, I just purchased a dreambox 500C from ebay. It was listed as having the Gemini 4.3.1 image. When i turned on my dreambox it shows Dream Worldz 1.6 with a picture of the earth. So is this a different image?

    Another question is does the clone come with a user manual? As I'm thinking why would they clone a user manual.

      do you get any menus etc ?

      do get any channel at all ?

      what cable area do you live in ?

      have tryed a scan

      yes it sounds like a different image

      if it is not working properly it would be best to flash the newest image

          hey, thanks for the reply, ye the box works perfectly, ,menus, channels etc. Its just that i purchased this box which stated that it has the "gemini 4.3.1 image tested working 100%". this lead me to believe that this box is not a clone. So when i turned it on i saw that it has a different image.

          The dreambox came in a box with a hologram of some wizard type character, with a control and manual(in english & german). I was thnking that does the clone come in this exact same things?

              1.6 is a different img, doesnt matter what img it has on it,ll prob be a clone, gemini img was ~~~~ing boxes up so be glad its not got that on, hologram means nothing either 99% of the clones have the hologram.


              as for not working if its got the old 1.6 dw on it then it will need the new roms fxp'ing to it or just flash a new image to it which ever is easiest for you.


              sorry ignore above, i see its working, but just because it stated gemini doesn't mean it original, its just an image like any other and has nothing what so ever to do with if a box is a clone or not. but if it was a clone that img would goose it more than likely.

                      cool, so do you thnk i should upgrade to the 2.0 DW image? i did notice a few freezing at times you see.

                          dw 2.1 (2.1 has new rom fix) img yes i would its better than 1.6 by a margin.
