Hehe, indeed they are. You're cross mounting both systems with CIFS/NFS so that the 500, 600 and your PC can all see each other then?

Very cool. I'm in the process now of planning a little soiree into outdoor UTP cabling to try and get a similar setup where everything is physically wired up. Not really so keen on having wireless bridges hanging around, just more devices to have to manage.

PS. I assume you mean "they're both mounted", "there different ips" and "they're fine" as far as I follow. Not trying to be a grammar nazi, just trying to get at exactly what you're saying.

I have got both of my boxes hard wired to the router with different ip addresses. The Dm600 has the internal drive and then the DM500 is mounted onto the internal hard drive of the Dm600 allowing me to record from either box and watch whatever is recorded from either box. I can also connect to the internal hard drive with the wireless lappy and watch recorded stuff on the pc as well if required. I have not tried it myself but it is possible to stream to your local pc and than connect to your local pc across the internet to watch from outside of your house. All in all a pretty cool little boxes once you get it all connected and configured.

Sounds almost identical to the scenario I'd like to have. The only thing missing is my second Dreambox, heh. One thing at a time I suppose.
