    DM800HD faulty USB?

Hi guys, I got myself a 800HD and more recently, a 800HD SE. I have gained much insight into the forum and the threads before making my purchase and am grateful for such a resource. However, I have this problem that I'm unable to solve up to this day and would be grateful if some of you can make some suggestions:

Both USB ports of 800HD can detect a FAT32 flashdrive and I can mount it just fine. However, when I try to mount a USB WD Passport HDD, the kernel only logs up to this part:

    Code:
usb 1-1: new high speed USB device using brcm-ehci and address 2
usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
It is not even assigned a device name (i.e /dev/sd*). I've concluded that no matter what filesystem I use, the above always happens on the 800HD.

But the moment I plug the USB hdd into 800HD SE, it is detected.

Both boxes use the exact image (the latest from the daily build) : openpli 2.1 by gjstroom

Since both boxes use the same images, I'm just wondering if this is down to a hardware problem. Both boxes are clones so I believe this could also be a factor in terms of reliability.

The usb port from dm800hd does not have enough power to drive the hdd so u need to use powered usb y cable to provide more power to the hdd.
