DM800 Guide for Virgin

Hi Guys,

I have just brought a DM800HD with CABLE tuner. I am a total noob when it comes to the dreambox; i'm quite exited to work with a piece of tech that I am totally clueless with.

Could someone point me in the right direction regarding these devices.

I have been pointed to the DreamUP application to upload firmware image, but which image? Is there a big difference between them? Where can I look at a comparison?

Once I do upload a firmware; then what? I know that I need some sort of emulator/key to view Virgin? Is there a guide for this?

Have a really good look around the forum first m8, even if it takes a few days
a dm800 is a nice bit of kit,
If you're a total newbie it can be a bit daunting at first but you WILL get there in the end.

got the box flashed with the pli image, now i am trying to scan for services, im getting nothing? could the tuner be bust?

have you ftp'ed the roms to it first?

i ftp 2 folders to /var/

keys and scce

they were from a d500c, would they work in my DM800 PLi?

i cant FTA channels would i need roms/keys/scce to get FTA?

if i have just flashed my device, should it be able to pick up FTA channels?

Is there anywhere i can check if the tuner is OK? i have search over and over and found no transponders

so you are using the jade2 image and ftped the roms and k3ys etc from your 500 to the folders..? have you done a bruteforce scan? the

i dont have a 500, i found a link on the forum to them.

i got the jade2 image.

i have copied the k3ys and installed cccam and evocam

how do i do a bruteforce scan? im not even sure the tuner is working, hehe is there somewhere i can check?

is there a maintenance screen where i can check that there is actual cable connectivity? the cable works on my subbed box. just cant seem to scan or find anything on my dm800

this is killing me, hehe been 2 days trying to scan.

could my actual tuner be broken?
