flashing dreambox for friends in other towns/citys

ive got a friends dreambox who lives in a different city to me, i have backed up the image from my dreambox and replaced it my friends dreambox - it works on my cable connection at home.

problem is when my friend puts the dreambox in his city it does not work (only the free channels work).

where am i going wrong, could someone please advise.

are you in the same cable area ie telewest or ntl?as telewest wont work in ntl and vice versa

i am in ntl area, i guess my friend must be in telewest area - what do u i have to do to fix this? i know people with dbox's in telewest area which work fine.

make sure when your flashing the backup it will ask
do you want to perform a flash erase,

say NEIN,, and not yes,
or it wont have copied the keys and roms.
